We had the good fortune of connecting with Keela Sheree and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Keela, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I knew my life was meant for more then just only working for someone else. This feeling has been floating around as long as I can remember. When I was in elementary…..maybe 4th or 5th grade…..creativity was and still is my purpose. I started off making earrings and start selling my homemade products to my teachers. I was so thrilled that I was making sales to adults on homemade earrings lol!
This has helped me as I knew by being creative, doing what makes me happy, feel good and getting paid of course was a win win for me! I continue on with that creativity by exploring my other gifts. One of them being is servicing the public over 10 plus years by enhancing people beauty as an Esthetician.

I knew I wanted to create a brow experience for clients to relax, feel comfortable, receive great customer service, and look amazing and this is when “Thee Brow Lab” was created!

What should our readers know about your business?
Thee Brow Lab is a unique brow experience! A wide array of choices from brow waxing, tweezing, eyebrow razor, henna tinting and etc.
I love giving my clients the experience they deserve when enhancing their beauty! Relaxing on a cushion massage table, with your feet prompt up comfortably, while listening to some at ease music! Warning you might fall asleep and forget where you are but that is alright as this is key! I call this the “Brow Nap”!

Being in this industry takes time, patience, consistency and practice! It has not been easy through this journey but I love it because I really got challenged! The best part is I did not give up and that is a great reward for me!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Let us start the week off with Sunday as this day for me is all about brunch! As there are so many great brunch restaurants in the city of Detroit….we will definitely hit “The Block” located on Woodward Ave. Great food, vibes, customer services and also great music provided by a live DJ!

The rest of the week we will also visit “The Congregation”…..this is one of my favorite spots to sit down grab a cup of coffee, do a little work on my laptop and enjoy the atmosphere as this location used to be a church turned into a coffee cafe….which I think is so dope! If we want to do some night life, dance freely, hear so dope DJs from local to all over the world we have to hit “Spot Lite Detroit”!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
They say it takes a village and it does! I thank God for my village (family and friends)! Especially my parents for introducing me and supporting my creativity in the beauty industry! My brother William the DJ that keeps me moving and inspired through his sounds and encouraging words! My daughter Kaelin as I call her my little human! She has changed my life more then she knows to become a better human everyday! Like I said it takes a village and I love love each and every family and friends that I had ever support me just by showing up physically and spiritually!

Thank you and I appreciate each and everyone of my people!
