Meet star diartiss | recording artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with star diartiss and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi star, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
The way I view risk is as a necessity. Fear of risk – of the unknown, can only lead to complacency. That doesn’t fit into my ideals regarding life. I choose to go after what I want unapologetically, and that often gives me my competitive edge.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a rapper. What I believe sets me apart fro most rappers on the scene currently is the content of my music. A lot of rappers are great at cultivating a sound. But music is more than that. The spirituals our ancestors sang were not amazing for their catchy tunes, but for their hopeful messages of perseverance and resilience. My music has the catchy quality of contemporary rap, but if you look deeper, there is a message for the listener. In my formative years, I found myself mindlessly repeating the lyrics of the music at that time. Even as an adult, the words and sentiments stuck with me. I began to really critically analyze the words I had been saying, thinking and attaching myself to for so many years, and became alarmed. My music is intentional. If a teen remembers it because it is catchy, my hope is that as an adult, they appreciate it, because it applies.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The last time my bet friend visited for her birthday, the trip was cultivated to her. We stayed in Long Beach by the water. Walked to the beach, had an intimate birthday celebration on the veranda of the Air BNB, partied in Hollywood, mixed cocktails (though I don’t drink) and tried new food places around LA.
Though I spent 10 years in Atlanta, I have relocated to Los Angeles. If I were in Atlanta, we would probably do something similar.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my family. Without them, I wouldn’t have what it takes to face adversity head-on to my avail.
