Meet Floyd Grant | Award Winning R&B/POP Vocalist and Entertainer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Floyd Grant and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Floyd, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I believe the most important factor behind my success has been my Faith and Trust in God and Hard Work. Because being in the entertainment business and coming across so many opportunities and so many people. It takes listening to his guidance. Not all the time have I listened and ended up in not so good positions. But then God is so good he continued to bless me and elevate me in this business and also in my personal life. He said “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”- Proverbs 3:5–6
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m proud that I stepped out of my comfort zone in 2010 and made a move that forever changed the status of my artistry. Entering my song “Give it to me” into the LL Cool J music competition as an Unknown and winning the contest and becoming known was incredible. It allowed me the opportunity to gain more exposer and opportunities across the US and also United Kingdom.
It wasn’t easy because I didn’t have a team and the friends and people around wasn’t as supportive in my move to become a solo artist. I worked very hard alone in the beginning, but i was determined to be successful even if it meant that I had to show up to showcases without a team while others had a full team around them. I pride myself always being a individual who never allowed the actions of others stop me from achieving the things which I set out to do.
I overcame my challenges by being successful, I didn’t waste time on what wasn’t happening or with whom it wasn’t happening with. I just kept moving. As a result of continuously moving, TV appearances happened, Bookings, phone would not stop ringing, Music Awards and Accolades and more.
Lessons that I learned is to NEVER give up on you no matter who decides to give up on you. Always stay DETERMINED to win regardless and to never lean to your own understanding when you are confused. Trust GOD.
I want people to know that I appreciate everyone who has ever had anything to do with my career and my success. All of my Fans and Supporters I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
