We had the good fortune of connecting with Cedrian Ahkumaaru and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cedrian, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Well first and foremost I got to a point in life where I really wanted to make a living from doing something that I genuinely enjoy. Since an early age I’ve been tapped in with the creative arts, from drawing and painting, music production to capturing portraits and shooting pictures in motion. I come from a family of musicians on my pops side and My uncle and step-father had those big VHS camcorders from back in the day and once I got my hands on them they stayed on my hip.

I have family members who have been Entrepreneurs for most of my life so I most definitely had examples closely connected to me and as I got older it just resonated with me to really dig into the craft of photography and videography and take it serious enough to pursue it as a profession.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business consists of helping others provide a visual aesthetic for their respective audiences. What sets me apart is simply my energy. I may not be the loudest one in the room however I’m easy to get along with and genuinely want to see us winning. I enjoy meeting new people and bringing other’s vision to life in creative fashion.

It is all about the journey not the destination. I am most excited about continuing to further expand my craft for we are always learning.

I got to where I am today Business-wise from having a vision, writing out a plan and most importantly NETWORKING with the right individuals for none of us can do this alone. Today we see a lot of people on social media glorifying the entrepreneur lifestyle however it most certainly isn’t a walk in the park because you definitely have to create some form of organization and in a way you are always on the clock. One of the things that I’m starting to learn to do better is delegating tasks to others who specialize in certain areas so that I can focus more on specific areas of my craft. trust me it makes a huge difference in productivity. (This is the Building a team part)

I want the world to know my brand for being responsible for creating and providing phenomenal visuals, whether it’s portraits, music videos, brand commercials or films. But most importantly I want to leave this world with content of substance, you know the good stuff that uplifts the human spirit.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Aight so boom, I’m a nature kind of guy but I also enjoy being in the city as well.

We have to hit stone mountain for the glory, the view is always worth it in my honest opinion.
For my skaters out there Cascade is a smooth lick. Now as far as hang out spots, man there are so many places to go to that’s why I enjoy ATL, Painted pin is a real nice vibe, with the various games, bowling and food. You got Phipps Plaza and Lenox mall for the high end shopping in Buckhead. The Trap Music museum is a dope experience as well for my southern Hip-Hop lovers.

If one wanted to tap into some relaxing self-care we could hit up Jeju Sauna thats open 24 hours and if you enjoy Waterfalls then Roswell mills would be cool to visit.

It’s really such a plethora of places to venture here in ATL and the surrounding areas that fits just about any lifestyle.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Man there’s a quote that always rings in my head…. “If you want to go fast go alone, If you want to go far go together”. There are so many people in my life that have most certainly encouraged and supported me on my journey thus far.

I have to shout out ma dukes for being the fighting spirit that she is. My pops for teaching me how to carry myself with poise during times of adversity and the good homies over at Magna Genesis for constantly pushing me to step further outside of my comfort zone and share the light that I have to give as I carry on my endeavors.
