We had the good fortune of connecting with Robin Wingz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Robin, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I originally graduated from college it was hard finding a position in my field as a communication major. My first career after graduating was in Construction (Project Coordinator) which I learned everything about that industry from my previous employer. Construction was ok, the money was there, but my passion was music, entertainment, event planning and networking. So, while working my construction job I decided to take a few PR clients on the side just to get my feet wet this was back in 2015. When I realized there was supply and demand in the industry, I decided to take on more clients and put on more events, so I decided to leave my salary position to follow my heart.

Charismatic Solutions was established in 2015. The company is named after my 13-year-old daughter Charisma. I don’t think I necessarily had a thought process nor a game plan. I just knew I wanted to follow my heart and work in a field where my passion was. That’s why I stepped out on faith and created my own lane. I also wanted to create something that my daughter could be proud of, which is her single mother running a successful business. The one thing I can say I was concerned about when starting the business would be funding. So that’s why I decided to invest my clients’ payments into curating my own events and platforms.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Charismatic Solutions was established in 2015 starting with a vision turning it into reality. We value our relationships with our clients, partners, sponsors and our network of contacts in the industry. We offer strategic marketing, promotional strategies, planning, and consulting services. Our staff is trained academically and has over 10 years of experience in the marketing and promotions field. We work with small business owner, designers, labels, models and independent artist. Our primary focus and goal are to create strategies for our clientele that are realistic and result driven. “Patience is key, nothing worth having comes easy”. That is why we work diligently and are consistent with providing strategic counseling, creative solutions and timely responsive services.

I would say that I would be most proud of the artist that I have started with from the ground and watching them evolve and grow in the music industry. I also take pride in curating platforms for the artist on the rise and watching them thrive in the music industry as well. We have had artist such as Lil Baby, Gunna, No Cap, Rylo Rodriguez and many more grace our stages and platforms. One of the most important lessons that I learned while navigating in this industry is “Consistency is Key” you have to stay consistent even when you don’t see instant results. I want the world to know that nothing comes to a sleeper but a dream, you have to get up get out and be active when it comes to tackling your personal goals and running a business.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Me and all my friends love good hookah, food, music and drinks. Living in Atlanta there are several options. There is always something going on here also so checking for upcoming events in the city would be the first step on creating our itinerary. I generally don’t come outside into later in the week so my guest would know to fly in Thursday to Sunday. Our run down would be to check out Traffik on Thursday it’s one of the popping R&B nights in the city. Friday we would do lunch at sea-salt which has some of the best seafood and hookah. Bowling @ Bowlmar or the movies would be the evening options. Saturday based on events happening that weekend I would have them step out to network with me. Sunday Brunch at Toast of Lenox and to the airport they go lol (I have a 3–4-day limit on guest staying)

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Yes. There are a few people I would like to shoutout. First and foremost, God as favor is something that people have to know is real. Secondly my mother for always encouraging me to follow my heart and dreams. Thirdly my mentor Aleesha Carter from KAC&U Images as I looked up to her while starting this journey and she opened her arms to me with any questions or direction I needed. Fourth all the artist who support the platforms and seek the services we offer. “With every vision there is Purpose” Charismatic Solutions brings visions to life.
