Meet Cliphosha Ravenel | Best Makeup Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cliphosha Ravenel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cliphosha, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was how could I make a difference in my community. I’ve always had a love for being a makeup artist and I have the talent as well. I went back and fourth with the idea because it was so many people in my area doing the same thing, that I wanted to do. But I couldn’t let that stop me, I prayed and manifested over myself and I had to make it happen. I knew this was truly my passion and I was doing the right thing. I never actually feel like I’m working when I am doing makeup for my clients because it’s something I really enjoy doing!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others is my drive, force, passion, and determination, to never quit or give up. I’ve hit many bumps along the road in this makeup field but it only encourage me to go stronger and harder, not only for myself but for my family as well. I may even be encouraging people who I don’t know and that alone makes me want to continue doing the great things that I am doing now. What I am mostly excited about is where this makeup life will take me next. I know there are great things that are waiting for me in the future and I just can’t wait to work along side of many well known actors and actress. Doing makeup for the Grammys, the Noble prize, MTV music video awards, and much more is definitely a dream of mines. If I had to say just one thing on how I got to where I am today professionally, I would have to say just keep going. Though I may slow down, I am still behind the scenes thinking and doing things that will better my craft as a talented makeup artist. No, its not easy but if it was easy everyone would be doing it. Sometimes you need a little challenge so you know that there’s always room to grow and improve your craft. The best way to overcome your challenges is to work through and grow through it. Always put your best foot forward and continue to walk by faith and not by sight. The lesson that I’ve learned along the way is to be consistent. Even if you have to post everyday to get your work out into the world, just do it! What I want the world to know about me and my brand is I”M COMING FOR EVERYTHING THAT BELONGS TO ME! I will make it to the top and can’t no one bring me down.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would have to give a special shoutout to my mother, for always being so encouraging and uplifting. I started my journey with makeup by watching my mother as a little girl. She would do her own makeup before she started each day. My mother was a makeup artist as well so you can say I followed in her footsteps. I was always fascinated by how someone as beautiful as my mother could look even more flawless than wat she did before by just added a little touch of makeup to her skin. I can’t forget about my one and only sister, she always let me practice on her and she’s the reason my skills has perfected.
