Meet Thee DL Marshall | Stand-up Comedian & Radio Personality &Entertainer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Thee DL Marshall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Thee DL, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always felt like I had more to say than what I was allowed to say in school, I’ve never felt like I could be the greatest impact on my community and the world in regular jobs. Since entertainment has always been my desire that came easy to me, so once the opportunity came I jumped into it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Hmmm what set’s me apart I guess it would be me just being myself not trying to be anything but DL, , my on air persona is what I was being in highschool, which is why it is accepted people can feel when someone is real or replicate. My stand-up comedy is events from my life some instances have been manipulated so not to embarrass some loved ones lol but true none the less. Lessons I’ve learned is to be authentic and unapologetic, lead with respect so that I can leave with respect, everyone isn’t for you so don’t try to please everyone and make priority for those that has proven to be a strong source of support.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh wow in the Midwest it definitely depends on the season. So let’s start with food since KC is known for the best BBQ in the world we’d definitely hit up a couple spots I won’t name because they’re not paying me lol, definitely hit up some live music, if it’s warmer probably couple of social golf spots, bowling and skating. And as I’m sure you guys have already guessed we’d certainly would hit up a comedy show.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mother for her love & guidance seeing in me the gift of joy inside of me before I even did, that I would bring laughter and insight to inspire, uplift and encourage people All over the world. My father for showing me the example of what a true man is, how he is to treat his woman, raise his kids, and provide for his family.
My kids for being my biggest fans and most patient & dedicated audience.
My wife for unselfishly sharing my time with those that believe enough in my show and comedy to listen and purchase tickets and merch.
And my R.I.P. to my Grandmother’s who were my first audience, auditions and support system to keep entertaining even cheering when I was definitely green and getting started Love you all
