Meet Xuxa Day | The Mean Marketer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Xuxa Day and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Xuxa, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I think my upbringing always embodied art and utilizing my creativity. I went from sketching runway pieces to supporting behind the lens whether I was doing makeup, styling, or creative directing a whole shoot on my own. I love storytelling and I think as I’ve grown, I’ve learned how to do so scaling to bigger challenges each time.
What should our readers know about your business?
So The Mean Marketer came to life after dedicating blood, sweat, and tears to a company that was not my own. I learned so much at such a rapid pace that millions become monotonous. By the time I had hit my mid-twenties, I had already done everything right on paper, but growing at that rate was also isolating. When you’re part of a start-up or new business, some roles or hats might be thrown your way that you never intended on wearing. There is no blueprint, but an immense amount of dedication required. All you know is that you want to win.
After being deemed so many things aside from professional by my former boss, I launched my own business. We used to butt heads constantly, until I realized that I had outgrown the environment. I’m thankful to him, because he built entrepreneurs with no intent. It’s a nod to those who may label me “this or that”, instead of giving me credit that I have had my hand in a variety of ecommerce and traditional businesses. Each time I’ve been able to help each business launch or grow tremendously. It has been a rollercoaster to say the very least, but it’s necessary. The more businesses I help, the more value I can offer.
I was able to overcome the challenges by taking all criticism on the chin. You may not always agree with the message or the delivery, but you have to keep pushing. I want the world to know that success is possible, but you have to stumble to create the standard you want your brand to be known for.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
