We had the good fortune of connecting with Dani Dickinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dani, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The biggest part that has made Lolek’s Storytellers successful is definitely our volunteers and community who have put so much time and effort into our shows and events. Every element of our shows is made possible by our team members who put countless hours into projects and practice.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I founded Lolek’s Storytellers in 2010 when I was a freshman in highschool with my local homeschool group. We’ve since grown to a larger community theatre company, now performing at local theaters, most recently The Canton Theatre and The Marietta Performing Arts Center. We do an annual summer family show with actors as young as 5 years old, as well as adult-cast shows. We’re currently working on Newsies the Musical, performing July 8-10 at the Marietta Performing Arts Center. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d look for local events in the north Atlanta area. The Canton theatre always has fun events and the Marietta square has dining and evening events as well.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
All of our shows created by a group of volunteers who deserve all the credit for Lolek’s shows. Other performing arts companies and programs in the Atlanta area also help us by loaning us props, costumes and lighting equipment. Also local businesses who sponsor our shows, specifically Brent Epps Automotive Machine Shop who is a Level 2 sponsor for our upcoming show, Newsies.
