We had the good fortune of connecting with Shaundrea Mason and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shaundrea, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was ready to take my career into my own hands. It’s difficult to execute your ideas, and express your passion, and creativity while working for someone else. I wanted to move around outside of the box, and I knew that going into business for myself was the best way for me to do that.

What should our readers know about your business?
Spa 92 is my baby! I officially opened May 2022. I specialize in boosting confidence. I understand what it’s like to have textured, hyper-pigmented skin, and feeling self conscious about it. That’s why I specialize in hyperpigmentation reversal, as well as anti aging. The thing that sets Spa 92 apart from the rest, is the relaxation factor during any service that you receive. I believe that a facial should ALWAYS feel like you’re on a vacation in a tropical paradise, no matter what the treatment is that you are receiving. Spa time is the time to lay your troubles down, have a glass of wine and relax. As a new business, I’m excited to service my glowing, growing client base, and provide the needed education on how to care for your skin after you leave the spa. Getting to where I am today as a business owner was not easy. Mentally, I had to tap into self belief, and get out of my own way. If you believe you can, then you can! That’s what I tell myself anytime an obstacle comes my way. I’m an advanced stage cancer survivor too! I think if I can beat cancer, I can do anything in the world. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned as a new business owner is, it never hurts to ask for help. If you need help with something pertaining to your business, just ask! It takes a team to make it all happen. No one person can carry it all on their shoulders. That’s the biggest lesson I have learned.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If the weather is just right, we have to go to Vickery creek in Roswell! I love being outdoors in nature, and near the water. I also love museums. My favourite one right now is the High Museum of Art, so we would definitely go there. Definitely have to go to Piedmont park, or centennial too. Atlanta has some of the best public parks! Such a vibe to lay the picnic blanket out, lay down and watch the clouds float by. As far as food goes, Slutty Vegan, American Deli, Ruth Chris, and King of Pops is top tier!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank my mom. She’s a super woman, and without her, there would quite literally be no me. Thanks mom! I would also like to thank my close friends for always being there to support me and offer a shoulder to cry on, and a word of encouragement when needed.
