We had the good fortune of connecting with FRANCIS HILL and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi FRANCIS, what do you attribute your success to?
Staying true to us. We never tried to follow trends we’ve always done things off of feeling. It’s so easy nowadays yo get caught up in algorithms and likes which can really alter the perception of a creatives leaving them thinking that what they’ve created isn’t good because it didn’t go viral. We’ve realized that isn’t the case and above all likes and retweets don’t matter if you’re making what you like and it’s from the heart.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Feeling. Just creating from feeling; ignoring what’s popular or trending and making things that really connect with me I feel like helped me as a creative more than anything. When you’re making what you truly want and what makes you happy it doesn’t matter how many likes you get because you’re not doing it for that. It’s so easy to clout chase and try to go viral where the real art gets lost in the shuffle. The real power is creating from the heart only real art is gonna last all that other shit is here now and out of style and gone by tomorrow
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to where I grew up in the city of Brampton. There isn’t too much going on here because it isn’t the heart of the city but there is some cool spots around where you can really get a feel of what we’re really about here. You can see how the area has inspired the talent here to be hungry and strive for greatness
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Love to shout out my team, without the support and understanding of the game who knows where we’d be. We always hear about the importance of having a good time but to actually have one it just pushes the creativity to the limit always allowing yo take things to the next level.
