We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Griffin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kimberly, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
Being in business for two years has taught me; Time management, consistency, strategy planning and networking. Learning these important fundamentals has guided me, by helping to reach most of my goals. I’m a newbie so with growth I’m confident I’ll achieve them all. In life you fail to learn which makes you better at success.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I created a publication that would allow individuals to share there painful past. Life’s challenges can be a big
“Bully” therefore releasing each painful occurrence not only helps to heal, it’s therapeutic for the speaker and the listener as well. Everyone has a story to tell and sharing how you’ve overcome your challenges can be supportive to someone that maybe in need of a conversation to help them get through there difficulties.
After losing both my parents and my 27 year old son to depression all in 10 months, I was on edged.
Then there was a voice, that directed me to speak up and help others!
I was giving this assignment from my spiritual father. With fear I didn’t know how I’d get it done and had droughts of it being successful.
After listening to the stories and creating a space for me to heal, I witnessed this becoming the therapy I needed. I began writing childrens books teaching them about social skills and published seven independent books. One book has been picked up by operations smiles helping to heal children with cleft lips. Titled;
My Beautiful Lips.
I have also created a nonprofit in honor of my son; Support Joeys Heart! Healing hearts by providing an act of kindness to individuals that deliver there services and hard work to society. We create campaigns and delivers gifts to share our appreciation. I’ve also started a beauty publication: BEAT Magazine that allows all individuals in the fashion, entertainment and beauty field to share there stories of hardship and growth. We have successfully published 9 magazine reaching the
“Books a Million stores.
By staying obedient and following the mission from my lord and savior this would have never happened, God receives all the praises!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Having friends visit me is so important. Therefore visiting the beach area would be my choice since I live 15 min away, and it’s the best place for fun in the sun.
My favorite restaurant is: Catch 31 bar and girl. I enjoy walking on the boardwalk and listening to the live bands.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My partner, right hand, and husband is my crutch. He’s the one who has helped me build Bully magazine. He’s dedicated his time and love to ensure it was created with love. After the pain of losing three loved ones he’s been so supportive ensuring we followed the process. His prayers, love, and long hours at work are so appreciate. I’m honored to be his wife and his recognition must be acknowledged.
