We had the good fortune of connecting with Rochelle McRyans and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rochelle, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own Production Company It’s a Really Rochelle Production LLC. was at first I only wanted to act and be in front of the camera not take on filmmaking roles like the producer, the director, or the writer etc. My husband Gregory Culp encouraged me to create my own content, he said make your own movie and that’s what I did and at that point I became an an Independent filmmaker.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am excited to have the opportunity to show my art to the world through my short films, web series, and content I create to tell stories and changes lives to make a huge difference. How I got to where I am today is I knew a little girl from Chicago her name was Yolanda Flowers she wanted to be on Disney and Nickoldean. She took a pen and paper and started writing acting scenes on her own and performed she had that drive to become an artist so bad. The lesson I learned from my life along the way is to turn pain into passion and art and all the people that hurt and abused me will realize God kept me through and they didn’t win and never ever will.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a best friend and they visited Atlanta for the whole week. I would take them around my neighborhood Vine City, show them my old apartment where I use to live at, I would take them all over the downtown and midtown area since I live across the street from there I would take them to any soul food place because Atlanta has some banging southern cooking that’s on point!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to give a shoutout to my hubby Greg! for pushing me to my fullest potential and recognizing what I didn’t and couldn’t recognize in myself.
