Meet Jasmyne Spear | Brow Specialist & PMU Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmyne Spear and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jasmyne, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
There’s a young man by the name of Romel that lives here in my city… his motto is “TAKE RISKS, APPLY PRESSURE” which is the focus of his clothing business “TrapRunners”. His motto is the first thing that comes to mind when I think about risks. I took risks to personally invest funds. I took risks and stepped out on faith to go full-time and not work for anyone else. I’ve taken so many risks that at one point my husband was looking at me like, what in the world?! But deep down, I knew the pressure I was going to apply. I had to make it work. I wasn’t going to lose. Losing wasn’t even an option! If I wouldn’t have taken those risks, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I plan to be an enhancement based provider. I’m not into makeup, hair, etc. There are so many people that want tiny enhancements or tweaks done to their appearance, other than those that are offered in my hometown.
I first started my business in May of 2021 by offering Cosmetic Teeth Whitening, and expanded by adding PMU (Permanent Makeup) services in August 2021. I noticed as time passed that a lot of people were interested in my work, just not (SEMI)PERMANENT services at the time. In January of this year I added Brow Tint, which is temporary. Adding brow tint alone has grown my clientele and business so much that it’s crazy. I’m excited to see my business grow & bring new things to the community.. To see what I’ve accomplished in less than a year is mind blowing. I’m going to keep learning & growing as an entrepreneur. I’m ready to see what else God had in store for me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m from a place called Valdosta, GA. 3 hours from Atlanta,GA and less than and 1 hour from the Florida line. It’s just the right amount of “country” for me! It depends on the vibe we want at the time. If it’s chill, maybe hit up a local Mexican restaurant & go bowling. Our bowling has a bar and pool hall as well, so you can make it a good time! Maybe even hit up a hookah lounge afterwards.
Feeling a little “bougie” as some may say… we’d definitely have a spa day & go to a finer establishment. Jack’s Chophouse, the Bistro, or maybe Steel Magnolia’s.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I don’t mean to sound cliche, but I most definitely owe recognition to my husband, Garrett… From day one he has been nothing but supportive. He has invested in me, motivated me, been my assistant, personal accountant, coach, and everything in between. He shows so much interest in what I do. Every popup shop or event I host, he’s there. I call him, he stops what he’s doing and runs to jump in & do whatever I ask him to. There was a time when I was working full-time , went straight to the shop from my job, and didn’t get get home until 10-11PM, & he never complained. He took care of the kids and made sure the home was good. When I lost my job this past November, I was on Indeed applying for jobs less than 5 minutes later. He’s the one who pushed me to go full-time & assured me he’d take care of his household while I followed my dreams… now here flourishing. He’s an all around dad and husband. I’m so grateful to have someone like him in my corner.
