We had the good fortune of connecting with Wee TheBarber and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Wee, what are you inspired by?
My past inspires me as I reference it in a positive way. Some people see their past as a bad place that they would not want to go back to, others obsess over it so much that they remain living in it, and their present actions reflect on it. When I think of my past, even the bad parts that I do not like, I use it as a form of inspiration to me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me aside from others is that I implement my designs based on what I have been through in the past. I am proud of myself as each and one of my designs stands as a symbolic piece in reference to my past as well as my accomplishments. I have gotten where I am today professionally by focusing on all the positive and letting go of all the negatives. It was easy for me as I have a good support system that serves me a good purpose to succeed which are my children. The lessons I have learned along the way is learning to accept the past as I’ve grown from it and its molded me into the person I am today. I want to let the world know that despite of my past mistakes, and through my struggles, change is possible. Everyone deserves a second chance.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to the High Falls which is right on the Genesee River. From there to the Genesee Brew house for a nice cold beer and a burger plate also referred as “garbage plate”. I would hang out at Ontario park as it has a nice beach park with many restaurants. Some of the fun places such as Seabreeze Amusement park, George Eastman Museum, Seneca Park Zoo, Genesee Riverway Trail and the Lilac festival are all fun places to go to as it offers great scenary and exciting people to meet.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Huge shoutout to my fiancé Janice for always supporting my crazy ideas and encouraging me to follow my dreams and passion. She brings out the best in me.
