We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebecca Lynne and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rebecca, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
When I look back to the start of my career I really had no clue how to balance priorities. I said yes to everything and often felt frazzled and overwhelmed. As I matured I learned that it’s ok to say no. Ok to ask for help. Ok to delegate. Once I understood boundaries were healthy it empowered me to help others do the same.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
At this point I’m in leadership at my brand but I started as a beauty advisor and I believe those years directly facing the consumer built a strong foundation for my success. When you deal with the public you learn to listen, or at least to be successful you learn to listen. I now use that skill working with my team. I’m curious. I like to ask questions and find out people’s story or viewpoints. I’m happiest when my team is inspired and happy. It’s not that every day needs to be perfect but it’s about learning to focus on what you can control and ultimately giving the clients a great experience.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d definitely take some time to visit locations in and around Atlanta. I love the botanical garden. I also love Lake Allatoona. We use to have a boat there and it was always so beautiful on the lake. Favorite hotel would be the St Regis just because it’s glamorous. I love getting a champagne in a swanky hotel. It’s makes you feel special. Mary Macs tearoom for the history and because it’s famous. I’d probably split some fried green tomatoes from the menu. I love to sit outside at the Battery and people watch, same for the Avalon in Alpharetta. And I adore the cuisine at Rumi’s. Yum.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My dad Edward Childs for teaching me to be independent and honest. Moving around as a child while he was active duty army helped me learn to make friends and adapt
