We had the good fortune of connecting with Kicki May-Nzeribe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kicki, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
My newest passion (Budget Home remodelling and design) began after my brothers and i put a down payment on our first set of homes back in 2014.

As i began to research my preferences and figure out which contractor could bring my wants to life, i made many life changing observations.

I realized I had been taken advantage of by a contractor and paid more than i should have on line items. In my process of discovery, i realized many other things including the real prices of items for home goods versus those touted by interior designers or resellers.

I also discovered a range of products and services which hadn’t tapped into because 1) Lack of knowledge 2) Supplier stocks choice based on demand and we buy based on availability

Why We Do This

I want to spare people the agony of what we went through by demystifying what Home Styling / Decoration is about. Showcasing how affordable luxury can be and how 3D renders are the new vision boards. Just having a mental plan and visual representation of what you want to achieve for me, is always a great step in sourcing and being able to find the right goods for the right price. Taking control of my process has not only made me wiser but it has helped me save and secure savings for my clients too.

At KCH, we are first time home owners and know there is a general problem of being overcharged and overpriced to get the quality home finish / look you desire without breaking bank.

We save you some trouble by posting regularly on ideas and solutions to some common challenges that we as home dwellers/owners face (we are first human before entrepreneurs).

We want you to SEE visually what has been achieved by us, others and therefore achievable by you with some little inspiration, knowledge and effort.

This includes price comparisons and alternatives you can consider incase certain items cannot be acquired on a budget. We are constantly on the lookout for vendors globally that share our passion for quality and price to introduce customers to.

Our clientele enjoy the DIY approach to fixing up their home looks themselves. They are patient to play the long game of planning, budgeting, bargain hunting and acquiring what they truly deeply want at a value they can appreciate.

As a MAIN SERVICE, we design spaces in 3D to help you have a visual representation of your desired outcomes which you can then use as a guide for your purchase choices and budget.

As your Art Director, We present you to the world the way you want to be seen. We handle brand identity creation and management, interior styling & design, retail design, hotel design, exhibition design.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would first and foremost take them to GOLDEN CORRAL. If i have more say in the matter, this would be lumch and dinner daily special.

IHOP for breakfast

Then Lennox Mall for all shopping needs.

I’m not big on tourist activities so i may let them plan the itinery outside FOOD… lol
