We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Winder and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m from Baltimore, Maryland born and raised. My background and upbringing impact me today as to how I present Myself. I’ve always had an eye for fashion and used it as a way to speak. I started my love for fashion in 2007 while working in the field of retail. I love mixing prints and colors which increase my creativity with clothing. I gained a clientele that trusted my expertise in finding looks for their next event or vacation. I started Styled to school to share where I shop, looks for less and shop my closet.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Styled to School Styling Services was founded in 2019 with a simple idea: An affordable styling service for the inner Fashionista. So, we set out to create a smart, accessible, and personal service that works whether you’re accessorizing, recreating, or finding a look for your next event. By giving our clients access to top emerging personal styling talent, the world’s best shopping experience, and exceptional customer service, while making it easy to love your style. What sets me apart from others is attention to detail and speedy turnaround of your styling needs. I’m most proud and excited about the final fitting and when my client provides pictures. How I got to where I am today business wise was consistency and it’s not easy, but when I’m overwhelmed, I take a break to reset which increases my creativity. The lessons I’ve learned along the way is to make the look work no matter what. I want Styled to School showcased authentically as I like to stand out and not blend in the crowd.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

In Baltimore, I would take my best friend to Loch Bar in Harbor East they have a great Fros’e. In Atlanta, I would take my best friend to Chick-a-Biddy in Atlantic station love their brunch or Top Shelf Restaurant & Lounge in Fayetteville as the owners are from Baltimore.

In my view, some of the interesting places to check are based on the location, food reviews and ambiance. I love a good photo op of course to showcase my look. My best friend Kay and I love to try new places and foods.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shout out my son Jace! As he’s the reason who I am today he instills strength, passion, and motivation for the many things related to the field of fashion as we share similar style when it comes to sneakers.
