We had the good fortune of connecting with Tania Rios and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tania, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I came up with my business as an outlet for my job at that time. I was bored and no longer motivated there so I had to find something that fulfilled me. I’ve always had a passion for photography, so instantly I knew a camera would have to be involved. The photography market is saturated in Atlanta so I decided to go with something different, new and fun. That is when Atl Fun Booth LLC, a photo booth company was born.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

Atl Fun Booth is a photo booth company based out of Dallas, Georgia. What sets us apart from everyone else is our attention to detail, amazing customer service, and our bilingual team. I am most proud of reaching an underrepresented target audience which is Spanish speaking clients in the entertainment business. Being Mexican-American, it is sometimes hard to acquire certain vendors for events because of language barriers. I can relate to my clients and communicate with them effectively to build trust with them and that allows me to be a part of their special events. I started off on Instagram and Facebook promoting my unpaid gigs. This was the hardest part of my business to get through because I didn’t have any business knowledge prior to starting my entrepreneurial journey. I wasn’t sure how long it would be until my business would take off and become successful. I battled with imposter syndrome because I didn’t know what I got myself into initially. But I kept working hard, improving my skills and started networking with the people in my industry for help. There are a couple of lessons that I’ve learned along the way. The first is to keep going if you’re truly passionate about it. The second one is to use up all your resources to always force yourself to learn something new. And the third would be to not be afraid to ask for help, we all need it at all stages in our businesses. What I want the world to know about me is that I love to help upcoming entrepreneurs build their own businesses. I love giving them advice, feedback and answering any questions that I had to figure out myself. I think it’s a beautiful thing to bounce ideas with other entrepreneurs because we can all learn so much from one another.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

I currently reside in Athens, Georgia because I am a fulltime student at The University of Georgia. If my best friend was visiting the area, I would first take her to campus to give her a personal campus tour. Athens Is a college city with lots of bars and restaurants located conveniently next to campus. Other things to check out in Athens would be the state botanical garden and my favorite local coffee shop, Jittery Joes.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to recognize my family and boyfriend for all their help. Their emotional, instrumental, and informational support has helped me indefinitely. Because of them, I can reach my goals and stay motivated throughout the good and bad times of Atl Fun Booth & Atl Backdrop. I am extremely grateful for my clients who have chosen to add my businesses to their special events and to all my friends on social media platforms who have been prompting and following my entrepreneurial journey since the beginning.
