We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Faulkner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, what makes you happy? Why?
What makes me happy the most is being with my husband, of almost 13 years. He always knows when to make me laugh, give me advice or just give me some alone time to create content.

Also, being surrounded by any and everything PINK!! LOL I feel so girly, and happy when I get to go shopping for new pink things, or even just being in my pink beauty room doing my makeup and sipping champagne.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I love being a creative, however it hasn’t been easy trying to figure out what direction I wanted to go in with my brand, but as I am going along this journey, I am not only learning more about myself, but also able to help other creatives as they are starting their influencer journey.

I have been on Instagram for a few years now, but just for fun. But in 2019 I decided I was tried of doing hair, which is my current profession for the time being, and really wanted to start my social media journey as a lifestyle influencer. So I asked my friend Morgan to come with me to Charleston to take some pictures of me, to get things going, and here we are.

It absolutely has not been easy, it has been alot of trial and error, everything from getting my lightning betting, to researching the best editing apps to use. I can not tell you how often I just want to slap myself when I am frustrated with something, just to look it up on YouTube and find out how easy it was to fix! A little advice, YOUTUBE AND INSTAGRAM IS YOUR BEST FRIEND, USE THEM!! Nowadays a lot of people put so many helpful things on social media, and as far as lighting, always make sure your camera is clean, it’s such a small thing, but it makes a world of difference. I am still wanting to find a camera, so when I do I will let you know. Lol

I am most excited to see, as I grow as a lifestyle influencer, where this will take me, and hopefully one day be able to do this full-time.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting, the very first place I would take them is to the Avalon outdoor mall in Alpharetta, GA. They are always having amazing events there, and have great shopping. We would have dinner at CRU Wine Bar and end with one of my favorite places there Le Macaron, they are the best!

Next we would go to Southern Belle Farm to pick whatever fruit is in season and to see the farm animals. Followed by the next few days of going to the Fox Theater to see a play, more shopping at Lilly Pulitzer and Victoria Secret, dinner at Southern Belle Restaurant, a day trip to Athens and then Madison Georgia and then finish the trip with a girls day at Chateau Elan.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to two people. The first, one of my best friends Hermean Shields. From the moment I told her that I was thinking of becoming an influencer, she was always in full support, even when at times I questioned alot of what I was doing. Lol Instagram: @hermeanshields
