We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffiny Fambro and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffiny, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I started my women’s life coaching business I had been through a difficult divorce, I had gotten laid off from my corporate career and I was working on my own healing journey. The thought process I had behind starting the business was to help other women like me. Women who had done everything their family had taught them to do such as going to college, getting a “stable” career, getting married, buying a house, and living a “safe” life. I did all those things and was miserable and I knew I was not alone. I had personally known and met so many other women who had similar stories. Women who were suffering through a tumultuous marriage, giving their lives to their careers, and still not feeling fulfilled. I knew that I had the experience to support these women because I had gone through the pain and learned how to rebuild my own life with clarity, confidence, and courage.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets me apart from other coaches is that I bring a wide variety of experiences in human behavior, fitness, and health. I have a bachelors in psychology, a master’s in public health, and I was previously a bodybuilding figure level competitor. When I first started on my journey toward changing my life I was about 20lbs overweight. I was very depressed, dealing with a difficult marriage and a demanding corporate career. So to help myself get out of my depression, I started walking every day. My walk eventually turned into a run, which led me to join a running group, which then led me to weight lifting. Once I got healthy I knew I wanted to go further and started competing. The fitness world really pushed me to clean up my health and start helping me build my courage and belief in myself. I finally found the strength to leave my toxic marriage and start getting business coaching. The first business I started was a fitness business. I was a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. I did that for several years and eventually transitioned into women’s life coaching. It was not easy as I spent thousands of dollars on business coaching, various classes, websites, assistants, and other online software. I made a lot of mistakes but also learned a lot of lessons. I was able to overcome challenges by constantly reading books by other entrepreneurs, listening to self-development podcasts, and making sure I had coaches and mentors to support me. The biggest lessons I have learned are to get the support of professionals who have done this before so you don’t waste time and money. I have also learned to focus on one thing and make that a success instead of trying to roll out a million products or services at once. It’s best to create a strategy on selling one item or product, get successful at that, then expand. I also had to learn to step into fear, get comfortable with the unknown and be willing to fail fast and move on. Building a business is not easy but it is very rewarding when you are able to see how you have positively impacted someone’s life. I want the world to know that I am still learning, growing, and evolving. My brand is about helping women on their path as they also learn, grow, and evolve. I truly believe it is our birthright to live joyful lives every day and that is what my brand promotes.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Wow, this is so hard because there is so much to do and experience in Atlanta. What I love about Atlanta is the various eclectic neighborhoods. If I only had 7 days, I personally would start downtown and work my way north. Day 1-2: The Dr. King tour and sites, Castleberry Hill District art museums, Centennial Olympic Park, and the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. For eating – No Mas Cantina and Paschal’s.
Day 3-4: We would explore midtown, the High Museum, Atlantic Station, Piedmont Park, Fourth Ward Park, and Ponce City Market. For eating – The Vortex and Loca Luna
Day 5-6: We would hit all the shopping in Buckhead. Lenox Mall, Buckhead Village District, Phipps. For eating – The Bucket Shop Cafe, and Fogo De Chao
Day 7: Would be a yoga and mediation day!
Even those attractions are just a small slice of what Atlanta has to offer.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I feel like I have truly met some amazing and encouraging people on my journey. One person that I think was the first person to really helps me wake up and step out on faith was speaker, author, and coach, Lisa Nichols. I met her at a conference she hosted for her book in Atlanta years ago and it blew me away. Her story about her life, how she never gave up on herself and all the ups and downs she went through were so inspiring. I was one of the women crying in the audience because I knew I had more in me and was only living a small piece of my ultimate potential. I would say she is someone who deserves credit for inspiring me at that time to step into my fear and believe in myself. At her conference, I ended up buying one of her programs and that started me on the journey toward deciding to become an entrepreneur. I also met the person who I would later higher as my official first business coach.
