Meet C.A.M. | Hip Hop artist/ emcee

We had the good fortune of connecting with C.A.M. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi C.A.M., what are you inspired by?
I’m inspired by life. You know the ups and downs, good and bad, I try to look at everything around me as an inspiration or motivation to keep me going. I do have my moments where I feel like the inspiration isn’t there to create but I take that as a time for me to slow down, reset and analyze what’s going on around me to pick myself back up and keep going.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being an artist is never easy you have to either have the right people around you or know the right people in order to push forward through the industry and that’s on top of having to stay focused and perfecting the craft. I’m in a space where I’m learning how to get over the barriers with consistency and still having fun with it. What I want people to know is that I have new music coming this year and also I elevate with music I hope to continue to motivate listeners to be the best version of themselves and we grow together. That’s what my brand is all about, growth.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ok so first you would have to stop by a few of my favorite vegan restaurants either Plant Based Junkie, Majani’s or Soul Veg. Then if you want to shop for some home goods you can hit up my sister’s shop Recycled Modern for some vintage home goods and hopefully you catch her on the day where there’s a pop up event going on inside and you can have some free mimosas and if you want to chill with friends and hit up a few night spots you can go to The Promontory in Hyde Park or hit up one of my favorite spots Emporium in Wicker Park and you might catch a live show at either one of these spots.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes of course first and foremost my family who always supports me in some type of way, my mentors Add-2 and Dennis of Haven Studios who pushes me to be on top of my game and is always there to help with whatever if I ever ask and lastly my lady Dai (who also raps) who inspires and pushes me to challenge and better myself everyday.
