We had the good fortune of connecting with Hiedi Burk and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hiedi, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?

Working as a full-time employee and assisting clients in tax preparation part-time, I discovered the need to educate others on taxation and personal and business finances. I then transitioned into the world of entrepreneurship. I wasn’t aware of the challenges that I would face in managing a successful business. It wasn’t an easy path but faith, consistency, confidence, and my vision of what I wanted to accomplish kept me going.

Many individuals, new and experienced business owners have little to no knowledge on how to manage their money and business finances. Some of the things I noticed since starting my business is that some individuals would prefer to do it themselves rather than seek professional advice.  Then there is also the group that says they can’t afford the services or know where to find an accountant.

With the countless data, accounting, and financial information out there, it can still be challenging for someone with no financial background to comprehend. At Hilton & Co, we strive to make all our clients feel comfortable and to leave feeling confident about their financial decisions going forward.

When we make a difference, there is no greater joy and satisfaction, in knowing that our clients have left feeling much more confident about their financial decisions. I strongly believe that everyone should be able to have access to an accountant or financial advisor without having to think if they can afford the service.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

At Hilton and Co Corp, we are an accounting and tax boutique firm that provides the services of tax planning, business formation, bookkeeping, payroll, and life insurance. We strive to build meaningful relationships with all clients by understanding their personal and business goals to create a plan that will follow through with their goals.

What sets us apart from other companies

Our top priority is to educate and add value to our client’s life so that they can successfully attain their goals.  At Hilton and Co Corp, we create an environment that is filled with transparency, empathy, warmth, and friendliness.  I want the world to know we are not just accountants; however, we are humans just as everyone else and was once was an individual wishing to have more knowledge to avoid countless mistakes.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

In the great city of New York, the city that is known to never sleep, there are many attractions and exciting things to do at any hour.

Suede Restaurant, located in Brooklyn, serves authentic Caribbean dishes and cocktails, that will give anyone an experience of the Islands.

Another great place to eat is an Italian restaurant, La Nonna Ristorante & Bar located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The food is spectacular, and the ambiance sets the mood back to Italy.

Magic Hour Rooftop Bar and Lounge, located 485 7th Ave 18th floor, New York. It is one of the largest outdoor lounges in the city, it is a chic, fun, and great place to take photos. The food and cocktails along with the atmosphere are a great hang out for friends.

Central Park is also a great place to hang out in the spring and summer, with friends and family or even by oneself, either way, it will grant serenity.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My dedication would go to my family, The Hilton Family, especially my mom and dad who did not discourage me but added to my confidence going into the world of entrepreneurship. My son for having faith and confidence in me as a mother, professionally, and as a friend.
