We had the good fortune of connecting with TEAtyauna and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi TEAtyauna, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Man it was scary. I’ve always been shy when it came to my talents & abilities, but when I decided to take myself serious with my music, it just felt like there was no other option. I was older and more aware of the fact that I wanted to live a life that created an impact in the world. I don’t think that’s too big of a dream for us all to have, I feel like we’re all here to change the world in some way; we just have to tap into that frequency and GO! & that’s what I did, I made my mind up and I said I’m going to be one of the greats and now I’m just GOing !

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
So I am an Artist. I like using the word artist or creative because it doesn’t box you in. I’m multi faceted and I love bringing my versatility into my music and creativity. I sing, rap, write, and more. When you’re independent you wear many many hats at once.
When you hear my music you get a feeling not just a head bop feeling but a nostalgic feeling. I wanna bring back the r&b that made us feel whatever they were singing about. I wanna bring back the bars in rap that go over peoples heads and come up 15 yrs later with a realization of what was said. I want to do more than create vibes for ppl, I want my music to be an experience, a feeling , or a memory that sticks onto you everytime you hear it.
Im super proud of my latest project INTHEBASEMENT. It took so much work and patience to get that album out and finishing it was such a massive deal for me. I saw it through and that was big for me. That album will always be pivotal for me because it definitely gave me the confidence to elevate but it was also a very well composed list of songs to break my way into this underground music scene
I’m excited for my listeners to hear this new wave of music I’m putting out. I’m going to be dropping my second album this year titled “Versatile” and as the title states, I’m going to be showcasing my range as a music artist. I’m going to be playing with different sounds & it’s going to be bars and vocals. I’m excited for everyone to hear it.
With anything worth having there will always be obstacles to get it and so with chasing this dream there are so many challenges on the regular. Just trying to survive and invest is a headache to work out on its own; you also deal with connecting with a lot of phony people. You’re gonna meet ppl who see what you’ve done or haven’t done and judge your abilities from that. Being a female also has its own set of challenges we all know too well. Being signed to my label Max Julius Records, has bought me so much peace with connecting w like minded people. They respect my artistry and literally assist me with making it as big as I want and I think that’s sooo important. The encouragement and support is so important for an artist.
The biggest thing I’ve learned on my journey is that YOU have to believe in YOU if you’re crying for everyone else to.
Take yourself serious, take your time serious, take your art serious, take your brand serious. Take YOUrself as serious as you want the world to and the world will come correct! Never beg for the world to see you, just do your work and become so good it’s too hard to look past you!
When the world meets and listens to TEAtyauna I want them to know I am them, they are me. When more ppl know me and my music it doesn’t change the fact that at one point in time no one knew me. It doesn’t change the fact that some days I’m not that confident abt my sound. It doesn’t change the fact that some days I struggled sooo bad just like so many ppl. At one point in time I doubted myself too but at one point in time I said even in doubt I will still do it and that’s what connects us all. We all literally can do it. My story is rooted in never giving up, seeing it through, & going past the finish line. I wanna encourage the world to tap into themselves and just GO!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ok boom so, a week is perfect. First day (mon) I’m taking them to get wings, you in the A gotta get some wings. American Deli or Kim’s in forest park ! Then Coca Cola factory. Tuesday is brunch at MIlk and honey and the aquarium.
Weds is the wild animal safari w lunch and a vibe later at Harolds Chicken and Waffles.
Thursday is hookah night we going to Escobar or house of hookah. Get drinks and Waffle House after dark !
Friday is fun day Andretti me !
Saturday is for skating on the belt line and insomnia cookies
Sunday should be my besties flight back 💋

It’s a platform to help underground artists build their brand and connect with other like minded creatives.
They’ve created so much opportunity for me and I’m thankful to be in the family!
