We had the good fortune of connecting with Chauncey Perkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chauncey, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
One thing about the Real Estate industry, and more particularly, the Residential avenue is that Salespeople have to own the whole process. Meaning, although we are known for Communicating, Negotiating and working directly with our clients, customers and other Agents, we are the responsible and “tying” link that ultimately must communicate with all parties involved, to include lenders, attorney’s/title reps, inspectors and occasionally Appraisers to ensure the process is completed seamlessly.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am Chauncey Perkins, managing Broker and Owner of Perks By Perk Real Estate Brokerage Firm located in Atlanta, Georgia currently servicing the state of Georgia. What sets ‘The Perks’ apart from other Real Estate Brokerage firms is our extensive quality of education not only concerning the guidelines and protocols for servicing our clients but also additional education topics that many Mega and boutique Brokerages may not directly focus on leading us to have a higher success and lower turnover rate for a new Brokerage firm.

As the Company’s Broker what I’m currently most proud of is watching our agents go from being a “new licensee” to having their first transaction to becoming a “Top Producer” in Georgia’s extremely expanding and competitive market. As the Company’s Owner what I’m currently excited about is our projected growth, along with our Partnerships with other local Company’s to include the Massive technology expansion happening in Atlanta and the ever growing Entertainment Industry’s.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Given a friend were visiting the city of Atlanta for a week, I would have them on the itinerary beginning with the Atlanta Botanical garden, where we would walk through the Orchid Display House or across the Canopy Walk, a 600-foot suspension bridge enjoying Cocktails in the Garden, the summer music series or one of Atlanta’s most famed holiday lighting displays. Visit the World of Coca-cola, hike up Stone Mountain, the most visited attraction in Georgia. Take a visit to Martin Luther King Jr National Historic Site to take a journey through MLK’s storied life as the leader of the Civil Rights Movement. With a guided tour of his birth home, then make a stop in the original Ebenezer Baptist Church and the theater where we would view Civil Rights films. Enjoy the High Museum Art exhibit, the foremost art museum in the South. And experience daily some of my favorite places to eat here including, Ray’s on the River, Desta Ethiopian Kitchen, Nan Thai Fine Dining, Aviva by Kameel and others.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I came from what most people would describe as a low-middle-class home, as an only child. I credit my parents for giving me the greatest gift a child can receive, the gift of an imagination and a library card. I also credit those whom were instrumental in my later adolescents development when I joined the United States Army.
