We had the good fortune of connecting with Lorenzo Bailey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lorenzo, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I moved from NYC to ATL in April 2020 and was unable to find fronto in the ATL area that provided the enjoyable smoking experience I was used to. The leaf was either too holey or dried out. I spoke to peers and other smokers in the area and realized they experienced the same problem. In July 2020, I created Top Toe Tobacco to create a solution on a grand scale.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
It’s a lot of leg work, but I love what I do. Providing a product that’s needed gives me a sense of pride and purpose. It makes me feel good about my business and daily work. So much so, people started calling me Mr. Top Toe. I’ve been most excited about meeting business owners from all walks of life. The network I’m building is invaluable. The most challenging aspect is most people aren’t willing to give new products a chance. It takes convincing but, we’re willing to put in the work and prove our products are superior.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love food. So first, we’d go to Toast for breakfast. Then, I’d take my friend to Roc South for lunch. The food, people and service is great. Next, we’d go to Hide Kitchen to chill. This is my favorite hang out spot because the vibes are there. Hookah and music is available all day and you never know who you’ll meet there. For night festivities, my favorite club is Zari’s on Sunday. For day time activities, I like to shop at Lenox Mall and Exclusive Game.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First off, I’d like to thank the city of Atlanta for giving me a chance to be great. Then, I’d like to thank RJ, the owner of Smoke Trip. This was the first store to give us a chance to prove ourselves and show what we can offer. Lastly, I’d thank my friend and mentor, Dale Ferdinand for providing solid business advice and encouraging me along the way.
