Meet Sade Parker-Yescas | Hairstylist and Salon Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sade Parker-Yescas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sade, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I was working for a corporate salon , I knew that eventually I wanted to work for myself and be my own boss. Although it was a difficult decision and I was taking a big risk at starting over, I had to get out of my comfort zone and just do it! I would always think that there was no way that I should be working these set amount of hours, making a set amount of income and have no freedom. The first week of starting my own business was so breathtaking. I thought to myself… why didn’t I do this a long time ago, but I have learned to never question Gods timing and realized that everything we do in life, we grow and prosper from.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am so proud of myself and the certifications that I have received in the hair industry. I am a certified master colorist, master extensionist, certified color educator and I have my certification in Sam Villa precision cutting, Keratherapy & GK keratins and much more! What sets me apart from others is my driven passion for continuing education and the time i take to make my clients feel amazingly beautiful once leaving my chair. I always stand behind quality over quantity and I am such a perfectionist and pay attention to every little detail. Which is why when you are in my chair, it’s only me and you! Another thing that sets me apart from others is that I am able to work with all textures of hair. All hair is welcome here! Of course what you want in life never comes easy, but if you manifest and truly believe it is for you, it will be yours! I am able to be where I am today by not giving up and pushing through all of the obstacles that were thrown my way throughout this process.
Some of the lessons I learned was to always listen to my first instinct and to never allow anyone else to make decisions for you! You are your own brand and own person and what works for others may not work for you. You have to just learn and grow from your own mistakes and know that things will only go up from there.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Definitely downtown Atlanta/Buckhead area. There are so many things to explore and good places to eat there, it never disappoints! We would start off with a tasty brunch spot with some good drinks, then I’d have to show her piedmont park; I enjoy the vibes there. I have always loved the nightlife there as well so that would have to be what tops off the night!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank my wonderful husband, Luis. He has always been there for every single decision I have made and has backed me up every step of the way and will always be my go to person for advise and literally for everything. Honestly, if it wasn’t for him and his encouragement, I would not be in the position I am in today, and for that, I thank him a million times. I love and appreciate him more than he will ever know and I am beyond blessed to have him in my life.
