We had the good fortune of connecting with Tony Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tony, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Being grounded. In my industry you can get caught up in the hype and lost very quickly. Staying humble has played an important factor in my success.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been in the feature film /TV industry for 13 years. I started out as an office production assistant and worked my way up to an assistant accountant in film and television. I’ve used my skillset in accounting to produce independent films. Throughout my journey, I’ve learned to be patient and to soak up all the valuable information that has been giving to me from my network of colleagues in the film industry.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had friends coming to visit me, I would take them out to eat at Hal’s Steakhouse in Buckhead. From there, we would go to my favorite cigar lounge on the Southside of Atlanta, listen to some great live music, and enjoy the evening.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate by shout out to my producing partners, R. Shanea Williams and Brandi Nichole
