We had the good fortune of connecting with Pete Myers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pete, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m from West Virginia the BEST Virginia. And my up bringing taught me to never take anything for granted and to cherish the little things. The simplicity of where I’m from is one of the most beautiful things you’ll run across. So I try to take everything in before allowing myself to be consumed by things that have a grasp on most of our society.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Almost everyone does music or knows someone that’s in the Industry in one way shape or form. What sets me apart is my passion for the love of the art. I don’t want to stick to 1 genre I want to be apart of everything. From hip hop to EDM to country. And nothing worth having comes easy. It’s still a grind but I’m always up for a challenge. Be careful who you trust and make smart business. Also make decisions because you want to make them not because you’re being influenced by anyone. I want everyone to know that I did things my way. Out the mud with only the love of music to keep me going.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So here in Atlanta I say you gotta hit all the landmarks. But as far as food gotta check out JJ’s fish, Slutty Vegan, Harold’s Chicken over by Edgewood, Ponce City Market and the beltline, and Laseter’ Tavern (mainly because it’s West Virginia based bar). There’s a lot more but those are a few of my favorite spots.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely Sudden Peak my team. My guys Ferg and D.Boler have held me down since day 1. And my homie Key West. These are a few of the guys that saw something in me even when I didn’t.
