We had the good fortune of connecting with Almah B and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Almah, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lesson I believe my business has taught is that you have to work 110% harder to get what you want; you will never get noticed if you’re not consistent and put effort into everything you do. Especially in the field that I’m in as a hairstylist, people are constantly posting great quality content, so if you want to reach that level and get noticed by people like you, you would have to go harder than them.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
So I am a hairstylist and wig maker. What sets me apart from other people in my industry is that when you sit in my chair, it’s an experience. Like all my clients will say, there’s a bad reputation for hairstylists now having bad attitudes, etc. But I can definitely say I’m one of the few hairstylists that you will never know, even if something is wrong with me. I love being very personable with my clients. I want everyone to feel comfortable in my chair, which is why not one of my clients has ever said anything wrong about me, and I take pride in that. I’m most excited about taking on the Atlanta area this year and seeing what this new place has in stores for me. I’m very excited yet still nervous, but I know I’ll get far with my drive and ambition. Getting to where I am today was not easy at all because I would sometimes critique myself a little too hard, but I had to learn to believe in myself, and once I did, I really became” The B. Look .”It was definitely hard though 2021 was my first year as a full-time entrepreneur, so I did not know what to expect. I did not know if people would actually book with me or not. But I’m so happy that I gambled on myself because, in 1 year, I became a 6 figure business and then moved to Atlanta.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I honestly just moved here, so I don’t really know too many spots in Atlanta yet, but from me being here so far, I  would probably go to STK first and grab a cute meal, then take some cute pictures, maybe even do some cute B-roll footages for Tik Tok, then probably go to a lounge for the rest of the night.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to shout out to my mother when it comes to my success because she paved the way for me. Growing up, I was not really into the hair lifestyle, but my mom was a cosmetologist, so she would always make me help her even when I did not want to, but as I kept doing it from a younger age, I began growing a passion for it and started taking it a little more seriously. I definitely had bumps in the road because I didn’t believe in myself ever reaching the level I’m at right now, but my boyfriend and some of my family and friends kept pushing me because they believed in me. I would like to thank my loyal clients because they also helped me get to where I am now by just supporting me with love on social media by tagging me in their pictures, shouting me out, and referring me to more people. So I would love to thank all of them for my success so far because I wouldn’t be here without them.

Also, I would like to thank you for allowing me to do this interview. I genuinely appreciate it.
