We had the good fortune of connecting with Paul Coppett III and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Paul, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought for starting my business came from losing my beautiful mother Sandra Gail Prince! She raised two sons on her own and she was a very strong woman. When I lost her, it was a very hard thing to deal with personally, and the phrase that constantly came to me was I Almost But God. I decided to put it on a t shirt and the business grew from there.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started the business in July of 2020, and I really only planned to do one t shirt and that was the I Almost But God shirt. I didnt know that there was a creative side in me that really loved and desired to do t shirts and other apparel. The thing that may set me apart from others is that I am a preacher with a t shirt brand, so slogans come to me all the time. Its all about finding the right slogan that fits your customers. I got to where I am by hard work and a lot of advice by my best friend Jadorvis Stewart who also has a Apparel Line. It was not easy at all. A lot of long nights and a lot of trial and error because it takes that to perfect what you are trying to create but its worth it. The greatest challenge that I have is being overwhelmed with the amount of orders and people being impatient. I have learned that if you take the time to be personable with your customers and let them understand that their order really matters, then they are willing to work with you. What I want the world to know about my brand is that whatever you do in the world, and whatever you put your mind to do, you are chosen by God to do so. Try your best to do your very best at whatever God has designed for you to do.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well Augusta Georgia isn’t but so big, but I would definitely take them downtown because for some reason people who are not from here enjoy being down there. We would go to top golf, bowling, and surely we have to go to church. We would eat at places like Frog Hallow, Cork and Flame, and Whisky bar.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give my beautiful wife Brandie Coppett a shoutout for encouraging me and trying to understand me staying up long nights and losing quality time just so I can fulfill my dream. Shoutout to my children Harmony, Trinity, and Jr for understanding that daddy is trying to build something for their future. I have to give a shoutout to the people who always take pictures for me for free without asking for anything and that is my wife, Tae, Tia, Alvin, Terrell, Danielle, Jazaria, Jocelyn, and Jevon.
