We had the good fortune of connecting with Arkeedah McCormick and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Arkeedah, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is consistency + staying true to what’s important to me. In December my brand celebrates 11 years and I always focus on topics that are important to me and things that are valuable. One thing I have learned is that consistency looks different for everyone — once I found my rhythm, I stayed focused on what was working for me and continue to build on those things.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I will be happy to share I’m a self-published Author: In 2013 I released How to Start A Blog: 10 Essential Steps You Need To Know where the primary focus is to provide tips and necessary tools for new and upcoming bloggers. The outline for blog creation that is simple and straight to the point without all the fluff and the Blogger Rulebook was released in 2015 and is the second installment in the blogging handbook series, this segment focuses on the documents you need to have in place in order to successfully run your blog as a business and other vital information. Both are available Amazon.com (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1494226898/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_hsch_vapi_tpbk_p1_i0_) barnesandnoble.com and BooksAMillion.com my latest project has been my apparel line called Socially Awkward Society its a lifestyle brand created for people to embrace what makes them awkward. https://teespring.com/stores/socially-awkward-society
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my bestie is coming to visit I would start outside of the city at Montaluce Winery in Dahlonega, Ga. So we can kick back enjoy wine and relax. During this season in my life I’m low-key so spending the weekend there would be the perfect blend of relaxation and scenery so we can catch up and chat.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Tribe is why I’m successful. My photographer Lala Spears makes me shine. She is constantly learning to build her skills, always patient when she shoots me. Overall she’s the bomb
