We had the good fortune of connecting with James Worthy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi James, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Drive, Determination, Creativity, Passion.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I began producing at age 17. My primary Genre was Hiphop/R&B, but with more of a soulful twist. Ive always been a fan of Percussion, Basslines & Drums. By me writing songs I didn’t have any production to go along with it so I studied other producers for arrangement techniques. Most times my music is classified as Melodic R&B with an Urban Twist mixing other genre’s. Throughout my career it was never easy, there were many No’s, and Yes’s in business and personal situations to where it was difficult to stay motivated. Luckily I was always a go getter so those things never phased me too much.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
