We had the good fortune of connecting with MARCHE SMITH and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi MARCHE, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Ive always been a creative. I think from the time I was born lol. My grandmother is a big influence and inspiration to be honest. She allowed me to be as creative as I pleased especially with her. We did so many art projects, crocheting, and paintings/drawings. She always made me feel good about who I was creatively which allowed me to explore different options. Me being a makeup artist/esthetician wasn’t really my plan however it allows me to express myself creatively so it worked. Being an MUA is so fun, I get to try so many different things on some many different faces, skin tones, etc. I absolutely love what I do!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Starting The Marché Aesthetic (my business) has been the most fulfilling journey for me. While this hasn’t been the easiest journey, it has taught me what consistency does, how discipline is necessary and what I am truly made of. It took about 10 years of doing makeup and 1 year of aesthetics school. Lots of loops and turns, I quit a corporate job to be here full time and it has been the best decision Ive made thus far.

My business has taught me that Marché is a go getter and a sh*t shaker lol. Ive built a brand that has made my clients feel at home, feel like they have a safe space, and someone who is not just here to take their money but someone who cares about their wellbeing. What sets me apart is how I treat my clients like my mom, sister, nieces, cousins etc. They are an extension of me, they help my business run so in return I make sure they are ok inside and out. Ive found my passion in helping others feel good. I couldn’t have asked for a better journey.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I honestly am a homebody lol

I will go out occasionally but I truly like to travel outside of the city. My favorite places are Mexico, Denver, And Houston. Mexico always shows me a good time any city im in. Denver is relaxed, a cool spot to just relax and clear your head. Houston is my second home and my second love! I absolutely love it there, especially the food lol

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to my maternal grandmother Geraldine Carolina. My heart in human form and my daily inspiration! She really keeps me going and her encouragement means everything to me!
