We had the good fortune of connecting with Carlos jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carlos, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind success is not having a no quit mindset. No business is easy and there will be times when it gets tough. In those moments you have to remind yourself why you started what you did. Never give up on yourself and never give up on your brand. If you stay in it long enough great things will happen.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a self taught artist that specializes in abstract and digital mixed mediums. I incorporate several different mediums to create my art. Its funny because I used to dibble and dabble as a kid but never took my creative skill seriously until late in life. It took some life pressures to birth what is now Cjones Designs. That period of me finding my art calling helped me get through some tough times in my life. It provided a form of therapy for me. Now with my understanding of this gift I now want to build on it and perfect what I’ve been blessed with.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If one of my friends hit me up and wanted to hang out, depending on the friend I would have several things lined up. First I would have a LYFT pick us up, so there would be no need to drive. We would probably start with drinks first maybe at a nice bar lounge like Sovereign Sweets. They have an excellent drink menu with a nice ambience. For food, we could do The Burgess or The Continent. Both are excellent food choices and to me are hidden gems in the city. Now to burn off those calories I would take them to a nice Latin spot N3DOS for dancing. After dancing if we have worked up an appetite would end the night at RJ Thomas for a nice breakfast meal.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give credit to God, my parents, my grandmother and friends for keeping me grounded and focused.
