We had the good fortune of connecting with MiMi Edouard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi MiMi, what role has risk played in your life or career?
As much as I overthink and get scared, I do it anyway. I believe you have to take risks in order to learn what works and what doesn’t. It not only helps the growth of your business but also helps you grow personally. If we operate on fear, we’ll never discover our true purpose. God may not have given me the gift of performing surgery or how to do hair etc. but I know what I’m good at/meant to do and I can’t wait to be able to really help the people in my community once everything comes to fruition.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own the online boutique Dose of Mi (doseofmi.com) which houses women’s clothing sizes S-3X, accessories, and swimwear. Most recently I made a commercial for my brand to drop the new collection. It’s just something about your vision coming to life! I’ve been wanting to do one for quite some time now so I’m proud of myself for getting it done. Also, this past summer I planned and curated my first fashion show.

Owning a business is definitely not easy. I’m still learning and growing every day. I’m still not exactly where I want to be yet, but consistency is key. I really put my all into my business. My brand is for the women who never look like what they’ve been through/going through. I’m a firm believer in if you look good you feel good. I love giving women the confidence to take on anything and fashion definitely does that.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I actually visited Atlanta last month and can’t wait to go back! I’m a planner so I love a good itinerary. I visited the aquarium, the selfie museum, the trap museum, and my favorite restaurant I tried the whole trip was APT 4B. The food was AMAZING, highly recommend.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate this to my circle who never allow me to give up. I prayed for a solid tribe and I’ve been blessed with strong, talented, confident, God fearing women who truly care about me. They know who they are! Love y’all forever
