We had the good fortune of connecting with Ken Wabibi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ken, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting our business was to provide opportunities for our community. We wanted to bring awareness to individuals, organizations, and businesses that normally wouldn’t receive media coverage.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Jack Of All Spades was founded by me (Ken Wabibi), Lloyd Whitfield, and David Spellmon Jr. We are a media company focused on community enrichment. Our podcast “Jack Of All Spades Podcast” as stated before highlights individuals, organizations, and businesses around our community. What sets our business apart from others is our relentless drive. We put in countless number of hours when it comes to researching, developing, and editing podcast episodes. Each podcast episode is tailor-made to provide a unique experience for both our guests and listeners. One of the moments we’re most proud of is when we had a fitness instructor closeout her podcast interview with a moving prayer. One of our podcast listeners reached out inquiring how can she get a transcript of that prayer so she could share it with her family. Moments like those reassure us that we are doing something right. It was not easy getting where we today business-wise. Running a company alongside two equal business partners can present challenges within itself. Who provides the vision, who establishes the course to take to accomplish the vision, and array of other questions dealing with executive decisions. How we overcome those challenges are by taking a vote and other times we follow who has the most experience in the particular matter. One of the many lesson we learned along the way is to be receptive to novel ideas and business practices. By being receptive it keeps our company evolving and fresh. What I would want the world to know about our company is that we are going to be driving force in the media and broadcasting space in the near future. Keep Jack Of All Spaces in your memory banks.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’ll start the itinerary with Members Only Tasting Room & Social for Monday. The drinks are always on point. Tuesday we’ll go to CRU for Taco Cruesday. Wednesday we’ll checkout WestEnd Tavern because you can never go wrong with WestEnd Tavern. Thursday we’ll take a trip to Chucks Cheesesteak CLT food trunk for his world famous Chicken Philly. There is no better way to spend Friday than at STATS Restaurant & Bar. Saturday we’ll head to 1501 South Mint for good vibes and Sunday we have to go to Cuzzo’s Cuisine for the Soul Food Sunday Buffet to close things out.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to all our families, friends, and to the JOAS Nation. They are truly the catalyst behind the success of Jack Of All Spades. Our company would not be where we are without their countless number of advice, recommendations, and support. It keeps us motivated to continue growing and evolving this company to better serve our community. We are forever grateful .
