We had the good fortune of connecting with Tim Pruitt and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tim, how does your business help the community?
Take This! Comedy is a way to spread joy to anyone we can. Our goal is to spread comedy and happiness to everywhere we can possibly reach. We don’t care if we’re performing for one person or one hundred, the mission is always the same: make them forget the worries of the world for a couple hours and bring them laughter.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started Take This! Comedy to finally try and pursue my dream of making people laugh for a living. I quickly learned that making money in performing is not easy but the joy I get from making someone smile is more than worth it. The whole business is ran by just me, I do the booking, the social media management, everything. It certainly hasn’t been easy but I have an amazing team of performers behind me and I keep doing that daily grind so we can keep growing and expanding to other cities and taking over the world, one comedy show at a time. I’d like the world to know that Take This! Comedy is coming and it’s gonna be bigger than ever.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a Dahlonega boy myself, born and raised and that’s where we do most of our shows. I’d say get out of Atlanta and come visit our little Hallmark town. Just kidding. If I had to pick my favorite spot in the city in Atlanta it would have to be Ponce City Market. There’s just so much to do, shop, and eat. You can always find an event on any given night and you’ll never run out of options. It’s also gorgeous, especially if you need new pictures for the Gram.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to give a big shoutout to my high school drama teacher, Colleen Martin. She gave me the tools to be a better performer and more importantly, a better person. Without her I’m not sure Take This! Comedy would exist and I don’t think I’d be the man I am today.
