We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Hogan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Owning your own business can take up a lot of your personal time, so I feel it’s best to enjoy what you do. Practice it daily or use your products in order to understand customers, consumers, and clients. With this first hand feedback, adjustments can be made and improvements bring more business! Get in the habit of being your best customer!!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
In 2019, I came across a YouTube video and thought I’d like to learn just that one minute of fun exercise. Once I mastered it, I wanted to try more and found myself wrapped in the excitement of learning new moves and grooving to great music while doing so. In 2020, COVID-19 put a halt to gyms and public fitness, but sparked an interest in me to help get others off their couches and moving again safely.

I started outside, social-distancing and promoting in Sacramento, CA then expanded to a non-profit facility helping kids in the community have some fun with Xtreme as well as adults.

August 2021 brought big changes moving from California to Atlanta, GA in hopes to bring great things to this community and surrounding areas. BXtremeHipHop can and will THRIVE here and save lives one step and one person at a time. I can’t wait to share the feeling with others!

The global Xtreme movement is a family, but each instructor is given the ability to be their own brand. I’ve found that my brand, BXtremeHipHop helps me achieve my fitness goals as well as others. It breaks mental struggles like depression, anxiety disorders, and more. Saving lives is the goal, and having fun is the easy part.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
While I have only been here a short time, I was able to learn great history about the city of Atlanta—especially Auburn Avenue, Cascade Skating Rink, Mary Mac’s Tea Room, Pappadeaux’s, and Atlanta Breakfast Club. I recently visited the launch of The New Black Wall Street and guarantee big things will be going on there! It’s amazing and I hope to hold some super classes there in 2022!

I’m excited to get to some local attractions like the Gurl Mobb Selfie Museum, Atlanta’s Zoo and good old Stone Mountain! Take the family out to Nitro Zone and get active along with them.

As far as exciting people, welcome to ATL—where there’s always exciting people! We lit!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
THE CREATOR of Xtreme Hip Hop Step, Phil stumbled onto his love of fitness by accident when he started his own fitness journey to transform his own body and to combat his depression.
In Cleveland Heights, OH the idea for Xtreme Hip Hop was born. Word traveled and popularity for the class grew, In 2014 Phil began traveling the U.S. doing masterclasses across the nation and Xtreme Hip Hop with Phil became an official movement.
