We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonathan Jubilee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jonathan, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
During the pandemic, my brother and I had numerous conversations about how we can utilize our strengths to start a company together. My brother (James) has a strong background in computer engineering and Myself (Jonathan) has a strong background in strategic operations management. After hours of conversation we realized that the world was changing right in front of our eyes and we needed to come up with a idea that would allow people to understand this digital world that we currently live in.
We came up with the idea of JubeIT, Inc. Our business is a black owned mobile app consulting company. We have a platform where our users can subscribe monthly and creat their own apps with out the knowledge of coding. We understand that everyone does not have the coding knowledge, so our goal is to simplify the app making process as much as possible for our users. We start off at $65 per month for users to create their apps. We are also on call and have a 24/7 support team to help answer any questions or concerns of our users.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am fortunate to work a Fortune 500 company for my day to day career and I enjoy every second of it. I work in the transportation industry so it is a very fast paced environment. I have excelled on the sales side of the business, as well on the operational side.
I believe what sets me apart is my “Servant Leadership”. What some fail to realize, is that once you are in management, you are now technically working for your people. If we don’t put our people first then we as a company will not be successful. So I started to really understand my employees and learned what they wanted out of their careers and the company. This helped me manage each individual more effectively.
Getting to this stage I’m my life was not easy. There was a lot of training, mentoring, and failing that had to happen. Yes, I said failing! I am a huge motivational speaker fan and there was a video of “Will Smith” and he said “Fail Early, Fail often, but fail forward”.
One thing about the JubeIT brand is a lesson that I learned from my father at a young age. I never understood what he meant until I had to deal with it in real life “Don’t say what you won’t do! Just say what you haven’t done!” I live by this statement and I truly believe it. We always put limitations on ourselves but sometimes those limitations are the things holding us back from greatness.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I currently live in South Florida so if my best friend came into town we would have the time of our lives.
Monday: Day in Fort Lauderdale- Las Olas Blvd. We would stop at Henry’s Sandwich shop! (The best around) End the night with Kilwins ice cream.
Tuesday; Top Golf Tuesday !
Wednesday: Swap Shop Drive In Movie Theater
Thursday: we have go to the beach at least one time.
Friday: Night in Delray Beach (Atlantic Ave)
Saturday: We would rent a yacht and head down to key Biscayne.
Sunday: Listening to Bishop Bronner from Word of Faith.
This is a quick itinerary for the week.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost I would like to thank God! Secondly, I would like to thank my mother and father for their support of this project. I also want to thank my fiancé for her support and encouragement through this process. Lastly I want to thank my brother James. He helped come up with the idea of the business and its a key part to our operations and success of JubeIT
