We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna B and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anna, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’m an artist creating music, which automatically makes me an entrepreneur. I decided to start making music in 2019 because I wanted a way to vent. Everyone needs to express their feelings in some way instead of having them bottled up. I don’t feel like I chose music. Music chose me.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art , My art is something that’s the food to the ones around me . My creativity and dedication plays a major role as well. My newest highlight in my career as an artist would be getting published in a very known newspaper in my city Louisville, Ky, called “Leo Weekly” . Through out these last couple of months , I’ve have gotten my first booked shows and been getting radio play in my city. The song was actually on the radio before it even dropped. That was major for me. This lifestyle isn’t easy, if it was everyone would be stars. I love the feeling of elevation and seeing myself achieve dreams.
Every day you wake up and it’s up to you to make a choice on what you want to do and how you want to spend your day. I choose photo shoots, studio time, and rehearsals over hanging with friends. I surrounded myself with the people who has the same dreams as me. Its a lot of things going on in Louisville, Ky.. news reports say enough. I don’t want this for me and my family. So I’m chasing my dream.
One thing I’ve learned that will always stick to me would be, “You can’t give up on yourself.”. You can’t expect anyone to go hard for you or even vouch for you if you can’t do it for yourself. A lot of people won’t like this but you shouldn’t expect people to believe in you. Everyone’s has their own beliefs and opinion. That’s something YOU can’t control.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A week trip in Louisville,Ky with my best friend, first things first I have to stop over my parents so we can reminisce on things and see how each other’s doing. I’ll take her to a BBQ stand near my house called “Family Ties”, it’s new and she hasn’t ate there before. If you ask me, everything’s good. Me and my friends are very similar so we don’t need the glimpse in glamour to feel good and have a good time.
She loves going to the studio with me so that’ll be place we’ll be at a few times out the week. I have a mandatory photo shoot every Tuesday so I’ll use that shoot for us or just her. That way should she’ll have dope pictures to take back.
I don’t drink, but if my girl wants something she knows I got her. The walking bridge is a vibe enough though we’re too lazy to actually walk the bridge.
We like looking at the river and the pretty lights while bopping my unreleased music.
Throughout the week I’ll make sure she goes to see her own family catch up with them, see how things are. The city has a few fun things to do like go-karting, gaming rooms, and even the bowling alley is a vibe.
Anything she would like to do that’s what we’ll be doing.
Back then all we needed was snacks and Netflix, things really hasn’t changed for us either.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
When it comes to shout outs I have to start with the most important of all. My parents if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be who I am today, they gave me a very structured and loving environment to call home. They taught me in the true meaning of love & “hard works plays off.” Shout out to my team as well, you guys help keep me going . I’m a tough cookie when it comes to my emotions but you guys are patient and always there. Thanks for never giving up on me.
