We had the good fortune of connecting with Peace and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Peace, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Family, time, gardening, learning are the things in life that make me happy. Being raised by my grandmother I did not have the guidance of a mother and father and did not value family as much as I do now. Ive always wanted a family of my own so I can provide to my children what I did not have in love and time and nourishment. Time is also something that makes me happy, as now I value my time more than I did before and I use my time wisely. Also valuing time makes me value the time with my family more. I love gardening and the joy it brings to be able to grow my own food. The time I spend in the garden with my family, teaching them, and showing them how to grow their own food brings me all the joy in the world. Learning has always made me happy. I enjoy being able to learn new information and sharing it not only with my family and friends but with anyone who wants to listen. Whether it’s reading a book, newspaper article, or magazine I enjoy being able to learn about so many subjects whether it’s about finances, how to survive in the wild, or history.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The business and brand of black history is everywhere (period) was created with the goal and focus of preserving black culture and sharing black history. All of the content/ products presented on our platform are aimed at inspiring self-sufficiency, instilling a sprit of kinship amongst black people worldwide, and constantly reminding ourselves that we come from a lineage/heritage that has accomplished/created/innovated/preserved more than any other group that has existed. Creating the brand, idea, and business was not an easy path. Many trials and tribulations of money being wasted, time being wasted, and not knowing which direction to take the business as it initially started as an idea just to educate our community and others on history as it pertains to the aboriginal black man across the world. Learned a few lessons along the way, I feel a few I can share are to be supportive and share the mistakes and plugs you have discovered as there is enough money out here for everyone. The brand would like to encourage learning and making informed decisions in life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta is full of many exciting ways to have fun, but everyone has a different perspective on fun. If I had a best friend visiting Atlanta I would first make sure they had a real taste of Atlanta vegan plant based food(nut cafe, tassilis raw reality, bad gyal vegan, wadada, and life bistro). Next I would make sure we visit the belt line and many of the parks(Stone Mountain park, Piedmont park, Westside park, sweet water part, and victory creek park). We would make sure to hit the day parties going on in the city as well and going to Edgewood and seeing what’s popping there. We would be sure to visit six flags park and white waters. Since day parties and night parties are prevelant right now we would have to find parties to go to in the city which may included Edgewood, compound, and revel. Last but not least we would have to catch a soccer game in the Benz stadium, braves game in the truist, and hawks game in the State Farm arena.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The love I got at home from my grandmother and aunt helped me to become the man I am today. They both instilled in me what it means to have hard work, dedication, and values in todays world. My grandmother was able to teach me how to cook and clean and take care of a home. She always encouraged me to be great and always put 100% in whatever task I chose to take on. I learned to be disciplined from her as well just by watching her actions. My lovely lady for life who has been there for me since middle school. She has always been the smartest and most articulate person since I’ve met her. My beautiful queen has always been an inspiration to me the way she takes risk and does not let fear control her life in any way. One of brothers from another Hassan, allowed me to watch and learn how to conduct and run a business. Watching this brother I learned so much about business but what was most important is that no one will take care of your business the way you will. I have learned so much information about business, family, and finances that I was able to take and apply to my own endeavors and I’m forever thankful. Now I can’t forget about my bros the scheme team, which is a name we created by always trying to figure out ideas and strategies for life. Im thankful for everyone mentioned and those I was not able to mention as many more have impacted my life to make the man I am today,
