Meet Big A | Musician/Rapper/songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Big A and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Big, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I think it was something that I was just kind of drawn to. My mom is a big music head when it comes to the old school. She was the lead in her band back in the day lol So I grew up on a lot of funk, soul and R&B. Definitely credit her a lot for my passion. grandmother plays piano too they had me in this little family choir group when I was was a kid lol. I love it. I love being in the moment and creating. I just wanna do what I love.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What I’m most proud of is the facts that my entire team is from where I’m from. I think that’s big. Like I grew up wit ppl that understand me and where we come from. It takes a team honestly to get anywhere. Collective efforts and knowing your roll is how I got to where I am and I know it’s gonna be why I get to where I’m goin. It’s never easy there are always challenges but that just means your growing. New levels new devils we just call em growing pains. What I want the world to know is the Midwest is here! We full of talent and we got somn to say!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Shit we’d definitely hit ale emporium maybe more than once the chicken so fire. Paco’s Tacos, Cul de Sac Kitchen be lit too. Right now it’s a dope time of the year we got football and basketball going the colts and pacers be smooth. Downtown Indy be lit. Even sometimes when you don’t think it’s gon be lit it’s randomly a good ass night. The Bar scene be smooth Broad Ripple and jus lil spots around the city.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I mean I can think of a few things and ppl that have helped me but my family is my motivation but this book called The 4 Agreements. It really gave me an outlook on life that kinda sculpted the direction and spiritual path I’ve grown into. Definitely 10/10 recommend.
