We had the good fortune of connecting with Ebony Shinelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ebony, how do you think about risk?
I personally feel as though taking risks are apart of life’s process to becoming your best self.
Risks require you to be in uncomfortable situations and balance your self to find a comfort in what you have been challenged to overcome.
Some of the most rewarding life experiences have happened when I decided to take a risk to try something new, go somewhere new, learn something new and even applying new things to my life consistently.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have tried so hard to stay away from what in the past I considered “just being a face” I started two businesses to become a service providing company that would active brands and projects, eventually by taking risks and following my heart and mind I ended up in front of the camera. All of me wanted to live in my purpose and from the outside looking in, modeling and acting didn’t seem to but after a period of self discovery I realized that I am as I am doing what ever I was doing WAS living in my purpose. It allowed to see purpose in being in front of the camera . I have a story, I have a journey that I have embarked and to be able to represent women and men like me that look like me, sound like me, and think like me. Would be me living in my purpose and so I would fall into it, risks and all!
My perspective on life is what sets me apart from others. I think from my experiences, my healings and my teachings I don’t follow the crowd instead I analyze the moment and see how I can add value.
Professionally, I got myself here by faith, discernment, and relinquishing the power that I have others to determine how I felt and reacted on a daily basis.
No, it wasn’t easy to start, because I didn’t know I was vibrating low or at all for that matter. The hardest part was discovering my low, triggering and non – triggering challenges that went against who I knew I was. I would say once I remembered who I was, the naturally happy, fun- loving person I came into this world as. I started to heal, get back to her and things started to fall into place.
One of the biggest lessons I learned was that it’s ok to be me. The good, the bad and the ugly, the world around you is waiting for someone unique, why not it be you?
I want the world to learn that being you, loving the you that you are and seeing the positives in chaos will make room for a positive, abundant reality that only you can create from a clear mental space. I want to encourage meditation, self awareness and self love in order to be the best version of yourself for your social, romantic, work, and family relationships.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my sister Taylor, the teacher, we’re to come visit for vacation I would take her to eat at Slutty Vegan on Edgewood Ave.
The on Thursday @ 8pm, we’d be at the “Sexiest Fitness Class in Atlanta” Sexy & Snatched Heels Fitness by WeightDrip www.WeightDrip.com
We would stop by The CraxkHouse, for some candied fruit.
Then walk the Belt and hang out at Ponce City Market for some games and grab dinner at Bar Vegan. Check out some crystals at Modern Mystic and play in some makeup at Sephora like we used to do back home in New York, pre COVID-19.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My little sister who just became a 6th Grade School Teacher in our hometown of the Bronx, NYC. Her courage, determination and passion landed her the career of her dreams.
There was nothing she wanted more and at the young age of 24 she is starting her first school year. She did that all by herself, no handouts no help, no distractions just faith and guidance from her loved one’s when she needed it. She deserves a HUGE shoutout 😍🥰
