We had the good fortune of connecting with Robbin Woody and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Robbin, what are you most proud of in terms of your business?
My clients 100%!! I honestly prefer to call them friends! Most of them have been with me for years. We’ve been through so much together graduations, marriages, babies, divorces, sickness, job changes, you name it! Three years ago this month I found out terrible news, I had breast cancer. I was so scared I had to have a double mastectomy and be out of work for a few months to heal. All of them stood by me, supported me throughout the whole process. They all waited on me to come back which was so amazing! It was during this time I realized what I had built. My clients are truly the greatest people and I’m proud of the relationships I’ve built with each of them!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a hair colorist and I love what I do so much! I get to be creative all day everyday, and I get to be a part of so many great peoples lives,
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Of course I’d get outside and hit the belt line. Definitely a visit to a Pace 23 spin class for a super fun rhythm ride!! A delicious brunch at Sun in my Belly. A afternoon iced coffee at Aurora, my favorite coffee shop in all of Atlanta.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I feel so lucky. I’m surrounded by so many great people who have cheered me on, supported, and encourage me! I honestly don’t know where to begin. I guess I should start with my parents, they are my biggest fans! Van Michael Salon deserves a lot of credit. It’s where I started my career and really learned how to be a successful hair colorist. Also Dorothy Pinney owner of Smith Ivey Salon. Adrienne Smith owner of Akassa Salon, Emma Davis owner of Crafted Salon, Jill Gregory my business partner and co owner of Parlor Salon, and Emily Kinley owner of Pace 23. They have all been supportive of me and my business in different ways.
