We had the good fortune of connecting with David Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi David, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Entrepreneurship has always been in my blood but now I am following the footsteps of my beloved, late mother. For years, I’ve done well with events and I’ve been told by many friends that I should give party and event promoting a try. This has always come natural to me and brought me pure excitement. I enjoy having a good time with people and helping them commemorate whatever endeavor they might be celebrating.
One of my dreams when I moved from Detroit to Atlanta was to pursue a business in the night life industry. That dream motivated me to open my night life concierge business.
I take the burden of planning a night out on the town or a vacation to Atlanta off of my clients by offering services for transportation, VIP sections for clubs and restaurants, personal security and AirBNB accomendations.
What should our readers know about your business?
My business gives the ultimate nightlife experience for the city of Atlanta. Most people want to come here and enjoy our fabulous restaurants, lounges, and clubs, but have no clue where to start. I try my best to bridge that gap to guide clients and friends to the hottest and most elite venues of the night.
D. Will Entertainment offers clients VIP sections for clubs, restaurants, and lounges. Also, access to Airbnb accommodations, personal security, and personal drivers for larger parties.
I believe nothing comes easy and that God gives everyone a special talent. You have to dig deep within to figure out what your specific calling is. Coming to a new city and gaining clientele is a very hard task but the way my faith is set up I know I can conquer anything. So, it’s a daily duty to network and market my business for it to grow.
I have been able to learn a great deal of lessons from fellow mentors in the night life world such as Larnell, Bubba, Bravo, Dee State and Nick Marsh, to name a few. These gentlemen have taken me under their wings and showed me some of the ropes in this industry. One thing they all say is you must have sticktoitiveness and patience. Some weeks will be greater than others but never get defeated and you can prevail.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, I would take my friends to all the venues I work and promote for. One of my favorite restaurants and lounges is Views Bar and Grill and also Zari Cafe. The food is amazing at both venues. Atlanta has a lot to offer though so it really depends on what the person’s preference is.
The museum of African American History, Coca Cola Factory, Botanical Gardens and Georgia Aquarium are amazing things to do as well.
One thing I have learned living in Atlanta is that there is definitely something to do on the nightly bases. Whether it’s a restaurant, lounge, cafe, concert, or even a simple kick back at a friend’s house. It is very hard to be bored in Atlanta.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank my family, friends and clientele for the continuous support, patience, kind words and criticism (good and bad) that has made me the best businessperson I can possibly be.
My motivation comes from my parents; my late mother who owned and operated her own business for over 20 years. She worked very hard, and her effort showed me firsthand that entrepreneurship is a 24/7 job. Both her and my father are the definition of the term “No days off” which gave me a tremendous work ethic at an early age.
