Meet Timothy Dance | Chef by day, Entrepreneur by night, Combat veteran in a past life, and “Peoplepreneur” for the rest of it!

We had the good fortune of connecting with Timothy Dance and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Timothy, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I am originally from sunny San Diego, CA. Military life brought me here to Georgia and I just never left! Like many, I endured intense struggle growing up in a lower income neighborhood. I was surrounded by gangs, gang violence, drugs, prostitution and much more of the bad stuff. Given just a few ways out, I chose to carve my own path. Armed with the love and support of a single mother and a supportive family I made it out! But was forever impacted by how I came up. Resiliency is needed just to get through the day where I come from. In my short 34 years of life and experience I’m learning this struggle is the same for so many all over the world. I’ve taken what I learned from my upbringing and not only promised myself to do better, but to give back and create the change I wished was present in my adolescence. Now, my vision has expanded. Not just for those impacted by their upbringing like I was. But for PEOPLE in general. I’ve held many jobs and duty titles in my life. But the career I’ve chosen to never retire from is that of a “Peoplepreneur”. I endeavor to build, create, inspire, help and impact as many people as I possibly can, for as long as I can.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am currently CEO and co-founder of Dancin’ Delivery LLC. We are a new age logistics-tech company based here in Atlanta, GA. We help small businesses by providing them with new era marketing, enhanced logistical services, and by connecting them with their customers in new, exciting and unique ways. Our relationship with our customers bolsters their customer loyalty and retention rates, generating new, repeating business and customers that are happy with the products and services they receive from our partnership. Our commitment to excellence in service and innovation sets us apart in the market. Dancin’ Delivery was built with real people in mind. We’re excited to present to the People the type of business they wished existed. One that stands on valued principles, never breaks promises, but also brings it with fun and excitement! We endeavor to serve! And it is evident in every fiber of the company. We couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve built and what we believe we can accomplish with and for the people! Building a company like this has been one of the biggest challenges in my entire life. So many said no, or it couldn’t possibly work, even that the concept was make believe! Long days, longer nights, work stoppages, technical issues, non existent capital, personal struggles, you name it we’ve faced it. But a sense of duty, resiliency, and the motivation to build something for the people have kept us inspired along this journey. We’ve learned much since the company’s inception back in 2019. We’ve conducted thousands of interviews with potential customers and app users alike. And we listened. If anything we want the world to know that Dancin’ Delivery doesn’t just promise to be different. We are. And it’s because of the People. That’s who we built it for. The “Who” is also our “Why”. And in both we’ve found our purpose.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Atlanta is an epicenter for food, music, and culture. I would take my BFF for a week in the city! We’d visit the numerous national landmarks and attractions here by day, and by night, visit some of the hole in the wall eateries peppered throughout the city and into the outskirts. We’d have to take in a game of some sort. With multiple professional teams here, my BFF could just choose! I love to laugh. To be my BFF you would have to love to as well. The comic scene here is rich with talent . We’d visit a couple of the adult only comic clubs and enjoy some laughs and a few drinks. There are so many sights to see, but I am a sucker for a view so mountain hikes and a trip around the storied Ferris wheel is a must! By week’s end it would be time to settle it down and enjoy a rooftop brunch. And that evening just one more round of drinks to recap and look at all the dope pics we’ve taken.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many individuals I could name here. I’m sure we don’t have the time or space for me to list them all so I will just say My Family, My team, and the people! The people are the motivation and life blood of each reason I do what I do and the purpose behind who I am.
