We had the good fortune of connecting with Arnia Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Arnia, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born in Decatur, Ga but I’ve lived in the Cobb County area since the age of 10. I graduated from McEachern High School and went on to attend Armstrong State University in Savannah, Ga. I grew up around a close knit family full of love for God, love for each and support. My beautiful mother has amazing work ethic and integrity in everything she does and I can say that she instilled that in me from an early age. I’ve seen her walk in circles of powerful people but i could also find her on the ground praying and feeding the homeless. Seeing this through out my life shaped me to be who I am. Everyday that I walk into the salon I try to leave my personal worries at the door. My goal is not only make hair healthy and beautiful but to uplift someone’s spirit, bring light and positivity and also provide some education on at-home hair care and maintenance. Every individual is walking into the salon will receive the same warm welcome and smile (behind my mask)!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

I am Co-Owner of The Collective Salon in Smyrna, Ga. I’ve also created an amazing brand named, HairBae Professional LLC. HairBae consist of hair care products such as shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner and many other products. These products are great for men, women and children and help with hair growth and retention.
I believe that honesty, integrity and education set me apart from others. I started doing hair in high school then continued through college where I worked in several salons. After leaving Savannah, I moved back to Atlanta to attend cosmetology school and went on to become at Licensed Master Cosmetologist. The journey after licensing was no where near easy but consistency is key. My advice is stay focused, don’t rush, don’t take shortcuts. What’s for you is for you and it will come in God’s timing.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I absolutely love new experiences! We would rotate to different parts of the city to see what’s new. If the place as great food, live music, and a photo opportunities we are there! I would definitely introduce them to the Atlanta Brunch/Day party experience. We would also go to some of the new pop experiences/ Museums. One of my favorite chill hangouts is the Battery at Truist Park. There’s a spot for just about any occasion there.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe a lot of my success to my amazing family. My Grandparents, Willie, Louvenia and Alive. (I love you guys) My mother, two beautiful aunties, my siblings and a host of other relatives.

Another key part is my church, Highpoint Christian Tabernacle in Smyrna, Ga. My Pastors Apostle Thomas and Dr. Carolyn Vinson have been a vital part of who I am today. They have helped shape who I am as far as faith, family and consistency.

With a support system like this, who couldn’t win!!!
