We had the good fortune of connecting with Todd Belin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Todd, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
My passion for dance and cultural activities are what inspired me to want to further navigate my career. Motivating an encouraging self confidence through movement, in which help me create my idea for my business; MOVES IN MOTION LLC.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Dance is an expression, the art of movement. Its freeing, fun, soul-filling, therapeutic, engaging and so much more! What sets me apart is the passion I have for this art form. I like to think that my resilient energy is magnetic and healing! Knowing that I can uplift others through movement, fuels the urge to continue to share my talents.
What excites me the most is the fact that I’m breaking a generational curse. Being as though, I am the first of my family to graduate high school; furthermore, receive my Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Coming from a small to such as Hampton Arkansas, you’re not easily motivated to follow your dreams.
Nothing is easy and that’s where my gratitude emerges as well as my dedication! I believe in working hard for what ever it is that you want out of life! Investing in yourself, your dreams, and your goals! I’ve learned to enjoy the bumps and the curves along the way, failure creates success and hard-work creates a legacy. I’ve acquired a knowledge for embracing the many challenges I have endured.
There are several lessons that I have learned throughout my experience as an entertainer, but ill only name a few. Expressing that fact that sharing is caring and keeping a positive attitude goes very far; as well as supporting, encouraging, and motivating one another!
Moves In Motion LLC is designed to impact, to inspire, and to motivate self- confidence through movement. This brand will continue to build and influence positivity! Know that what ever you set you mind to, is without a doubt possible.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting the area, I would most definitely take them to the heart of the city Downtown Atlanta. The city is scenic and very historic. It thrives of excitement, culture and entertainment. We would visit places such as the Georgia Aquarium, the infamous Coca-Cola Factory, the Atlanta Beltline, the many historic landmark such as the Martin Luther King Jr. exhibit. Also visit popular well known industry pioneer establishments to name a few, Kandi Burress, Tauheed Epps, and Outkast. Most importantly visit all of the infamous dance studios like Dance 411, I-Inspire Dance Studios, and XCEL STUDIOS. Ponce City Market would also make the list, its full of so many different people and vibes!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to definitely give shoutout credits to my mentors; Shakerah Moody, Korto Momolu, and the many family members and peers. Also, I would like to personally honor my professors Judith Vasser, Rhythm McCarthy, and Stephanie Thibeault for inspiring and shaping me as the dancer/choreographer I am today. These ladies instilled a great deed of knowledge and wisdom that has pushed me beyond limits.
To the Atlanta community I want say a big thank you to Kiki Ely and ATLA Entertainment Studios for giving the opportunity to be a part of ATLA Cycle V. Here is where I gained multiple aspects of performing in the entertainment industry in which I was provided top industry training with several prospering entertainers.
Arkansas, I thank you so much! This place shaped and molded me; made me believe that I CAN and I AM! There is no bigger shoutout! Words cant express the love I have for this state!
If I Ieft anyone out, I want to sincerely say thank you to everyone that has supported and made this journey possible. Your are truly appreciated!
