Meet Lafayette Julius | Founder & Investor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lafayette Julius and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lafayette, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
The end goal is to leave as much knowledge, wealth and resources for the next generation. I believe a career is never ending if you are producing pathways and staying consistent in your craft, With grace, I wish to be always in a position of evolving in my career. Hopefully giving back to the community more, inspiring more athletes with business mindsets to create profitable ecosystems and leveraging technology to sustain a balanced human life.

What should our readers know about your business?
I operate a sports tech company and a private investment company. Evolve Sports, founded in 2017 with my co-founders focuses on personal basketball training for the next generational athletes. We started wanting to impact athletes lives from our professional experiences. and this led to creating an app for athletes to watch content, focus on education and feedback from trainers. We traveled across the world from Berlin, Sydney, and Shanghai just to spread the vision and offer affordable training to athletes in underserved areas. Covid was an event that impacted our business but also helped us grow into building training facilities. Magnus is also my private investment vehicle that focuses on culture and bridging the gap of allowing diverse players to get in emerging tech deals. I’ve learned a lot of lessons along the way but always remain humble and treat each day like a new opportunity no matter how big or small the scope.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are a lot of private gems in the city I am still exploring. We would begin breakfast at Gocha’s since it’s close from the airport. Then hopefully the braves have a early game that we could checkout at the battery filled with some cigars at Rocky’s. Living in Vinings, put’s you in the mix and away from traffic. Next, we would go to our basketball training facility in Buckhead to get some shots up then go shopping afterward at Phipps. Before we head to the Nightlife which is is always exciting, a stop at my friends private music studio in the city to meet some of the biggest names in music recording, then we would hit Rose bar, Gold Room and Blue Martini. Cap the night off on the rooftop at 915 with friends, hookah, and drinks.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
